Voice of Responsible Bharat

A media literacy workshop that empowers students to think critically, navigate the internet responsibly, and use digital platforms with intention.

The Challenge

The Reality We're Ignoring

Students today are not just consuming content — they are being shaped by it. What they watch influences what they believe, and what they scroll through quietly reshapes how they see themselves. Yet, most students are never taught how to question what they encounter online.

Misinformation

Students struggle to distinguish credible information from misinformation, making them vulnerable to false narratives.

Unrealistic Standards

Curated digital content quietly internalizes unrealistic standards, affecting self-image and mental wellbeing.

Digital Impact Blindness

Students participate in digital spaces without fully understanding the impact of their own footprint and expression.

“This is no longer just a behavioural concern — it is a gap in education.”

The Programme

What is VoRB?

Voice of Responsible Bharat (VoRB) is a media literacy workshop built to address this gap directly. At its core, the name reflects a larger vision: to enable students to become the voice that shapes a more responsible Bharat — by learning, questioning, and consciously participating in conversations today.

The workshop is designed with inputs from real media professionals and grounded in how content is actually created, distributed, and consumed. This ensures that what students engage with is not abstract, but rooted in real-world relevance.

Strategic Partner

Why the Brut Partnership Matters

The strength of VoRB lies significantly in its collaboration with Brut India — a global digital media platform known for its fact-based and impactful storytelling.

Brut brings a deep understanding of Gen Z audiences, a strong foundation in fact-checked storytelling, and exposure to global media practices. Their involvement ensures that the workshop is not only credible, but also aligned with the kind of content students already encounter in their daily lives.

Within the workshop, students engage with real media examples and gain insight into how narratives are shaped — making the experience more immediate, more engaging, and far more impactful than traditional formats.

Impact

What Actually Changes

The impact of VoRB is reflected in how students begin to think and engage with the digital world.

From Passive to Active

Students move from passive consumption to conscious evaluation, becoming more aware of the intent and influence behind content.

Independent Perspectives

Instead of accepting information at face value, they begin to question, analyse, and form independent perspectives.

Confident Expression

Over time, this shift translates into more confident expression and a more intentional use of digital platforms.

The objective is not simply to make students safer online,

but sharper in how they think.

Format

Inside the Workshop

The workshop is designed to be highly interactive, ensuring that students are actively involved throughout.

01

Real-World Content

Participants engage directly with real digital media content drawn from platforms students already use.

02

Group Activities

Structured individual and group activities that encourage critical thinking through guided discovery.

03

Open Dialogue

Discussions that create a safe space for students to voice observations, doubts, and perspectives.

04

Media Professional Interaction

Direct interaction with journalists and creators — letting students ask how content is made and why.

This level of engagement consistently leads to thoughtful questions and deeper curiosity from students.

Differentiation

Why VoRB Works

Most workshops in this space remain theoretical, often limiting student engagement and long-term impact.

VoRB takes a different approach. It is grounded in real-world media, designed for participation, and focused on application rather than passive understanding.

Students are not simply introduced to concepts — they are encouraged to actively think through them, challenge them, and apply them in context. What they leave with is not just awareness, but a more informed and critical lens.
